This is Simon's story told in his own words: "My name is Simon Maina Kibura. I come from a humble background in a village known as Githurai in Kiambu County, Kenya. In fact, I am one of the first beneficiaries of the Marafiki Trust. In Kenya's education sector, you need to complete the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education(KCPE) for you to get to the next level of education which is Secondary education which requires fees to be paid. In 2007 I did my KCPE at Mwiki Primary School where the following year I joined secondary education but that was not the case for me. My parents were not in a position to pay school fees. I thought I would never go to school anymore and I did not want to upset or bother my mum's mind. So I went back to primary school now in another school for one more year and tried my luck again thinking we would find a way.At this time, I used to attend service at a Church.4 of us boys were interviewed by some members about the possibility of furthering our education. This news was the best news ever I explained to my mom about it. The following week I was in an interview in the best school in the community secondary school. Immediately after, we were offered somewhere to stay. In a few days, we meet this fine lady Yachna Tak, and this gentleman Pooran Tak.To this date, I don't know what to call Yachna, not madam, mentor, mother, sister, I can't tell. She is my family that I know for certain with no doubt. We were all introduced, they(Marafiki Trust) came to our school and we talked individually about lots of things. The most important one was, what do you want to be after all this? I can remember telling them that I would like to be a lawyer. Yachna asked why and I told her that I wish to speak on behalf of those who cannot speak for themselves. All through my education, we all met often to see how we were progressing. I can say for sure that Msaada Marafiki has not only educated me, it has also given me a family and helped in nurturing my talent in kabaddi(a contact sport) and also helped me nurture many other talents. I set up a club for the local children called TAK KABADDI CLUB. On her way she met a copy. The copy warned the Little Blind Text, that where it came from it would have been rewritten a thousand times and everything that was left from its origin would be the word "and" and the Little Blind Text should turn around and return to its own, safe country. But nothing the copy said could convince her and so it didn’t take long until a few insidious Copy Writers ambushed her, made her drunk with Longe and Parole and dragged her into their agency, where they abused her for their.
